Eda Güçlü is a trained Ottomanist focusing on the urban and economic history of nineteenth-century Istanbul with a PhD from the History Department at CEU. She has participated in several research projects on Ottoman urban, socio-economic, legal, and religious history. She also taught language classes and courses on urban history at CEU and Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. Currently, she is working on her book project on property and morality in Ottoman Istanbul.
